My Audi's on its last legs and I've taken it in to get so many things done oil changes, clutch replacement, hose assembly replacement, brake master cylinder replacement, etc etc etc... They always do a stellar job, and I appreciate that Jose's always very informative and helpful in trying to save me money. I was hesitant to return after my first experience, but the crew really knows what they are doing, and I thought I would give them another chance. In the past 2 years, I've been back to Euro Tech several times for my Audi TT, and had very pleasant experiences. They definitely deserve 5 stars. Jose quotes very reasonable prices and their work is guaranteed. I've always liked Jose. He's trustworthy, honest, and knowledgeable. He even makes me feel like family, and I am happy to see that he is back to running the business (Artie is recently no longer with EuroTech). Those who had a bad experience should give the shop another chance. It's rare to find a trusty mechanic, so this place has become a real gem to me. I wanted SO badly to give this place a 5 star. BUT NO, and in fact it's taking every ounce of my energy to keep this PG. Get ready for a LONG review as I am still fuming while I write this due to the TERRIBLE experience I just had. Hear me out. My Audi needed a major service (mileage over 100k). Being a girl, I was prepared to get ripped off @ an auto shop. Although Im a girl, Im not stupid about cars. Im actually REALLY into cars - more so than some guys even. SO I did my due diligence and checked Yelp. EuroTech Motors was the closest place to me that had great reviews. It has great reviews amongst a few horrible reviews. Bad apples I thought to myself - I'll take the risk. I spoke with Artie who quoted me roughly $400 for the service, a competitive price. I brought my car in the same morning. here's where the story gets bad. I take my car in, looking forward to a great experience, and looking forward to adding a 5 star review amongst the many others on Yelp. Artie was very very nice over the phone, but not so in person. I asked if there was a coffee shop nearby and he seemed ANNOYED to even point me in the direction of where to walk to. He doesnt even provide a name of a coffee shop around. He just says, there are many on both the left and right side of the street. I ask how many blocks, he says 1 block, and maintains his annoyance. I walk at least 4 blocks seeing NO coffee shops around before I finally came across ONE. Ok, there are jerks in the world, I can handle it, as long as my car's taken care of I'd still give them a 5 star review. So I ended up wandering to Rumor Mill to pass the time. I get a phone call from Artie an hour later. He tells me the following:: My car has several problems.... Camshaft adjuster seals are leaking - $600 repair Haul deck change - $250 repair these are on top of the $600 service fee.... If my math is correct, that totals $1450. WTF?!?! I responded "Wait a second. You quoted me $400 for the service. Why is it $600 all of a sudden. I wouldn't have brought my car in in the first place if it was going to be $600." Artie stumbles a response something along the lines of.. "Oooohh did I say $400 before? Hold on let me check my records, just a second, um, hold on, let me see. Oohhh yeah you know what, you're right. It's not $600. It's $400". once again, WTF?!?! it was obvious he was trying to gouge me $200 extra. At this point, I am raising my voice (while maintaining composure and good phone etiquette of course). But inside I am FUMING. I told him to not do ANYTHING to my car except finish the service because I want to get a second opinion because his prices seem rather high, and I want to make sure those repairs are necessary. Artie becomes extremely defensive. I ask to speak to Jose. He says Jose's not available and doesn't speak to customers. If I have any issues, I must only speak to Artie. WTF?!?!?! Jose needs to know his business reputation is being damaged by the service manager ARTIE, who as another reviewer stated, is all about business, and not necessary customer service nor ethics. Now, to be fair, I am sure the mechanics know their stuff and did a great job on the service. Also they washed my car after the service, which is a very nice touch After the service was done, I immediately went to my trusty mechanic RIGHT SOLUTIONS. I felt RELIEVED upon entering. I needed to go to someone I trusted to take a look at whether my camshaft adjuster seal leak was worthy of a $600 repair. For FREE, Hugo did a full inspection on my vehicle, and spent time SHOWING me personally with a flashlight and pointer that there is a slight leak but not necessary for a $600 repair. Plus, that was an overpriced quote. The part is only about $30, and the labor they were charging was over the top. Since RIGHT SOLUTIONS is an expert in Saabs, not Audis, I called up EUROWURX in Burbank (friend recommended) to get a quote on changing the haul deck. Jimmy told me that they overquoted me for everything. The haul deck should only cost me about $200 or a little under that even. Hence, I am taking it to EuroWurx this Friday. If you have any car troubles, take it to Walter or Hugo at Right Solutions. They are the most honest mechanics around Culver City. The reason I didn't take my car to get it serviced here is because they don't have Vag Com computer diagnostic. If you want to go to EuroTech, go at your own risk, and make sure to get a second opinion.
